In our field of information security, a thorough reconsideration occurs once every four to five years. The vision that has been applied in the past period is then tested against the experiences in practice. This evaluation leads to new insights and also raises new questions for further research. This book is the result of two such feedback loops. In the first part, it builds on the insights from my first book in 2010 (Maturing Business Information Security [1]). The second part reflects the core of the practical experiences gained based on these insights. In the third part, the book paints new perspectives for the future.
